Planting amaryllis

You plant an amaryllis bulb with the bulb 40% above the ground. Make sure that the bulb is in a large pot, so that there is room around the bulb for watering. In addition, it is important not to fill the pot with soil all the way to the top, so that the water cannot run out of the pot. Make sure the soil is moderately moist, neither too wet nor too dry. Depending on the variety, an Amaryllis bulb will grow within 6 to 8 weeks. You can read tips on how to preserve the Amaryllis bulb in our blog.

The Amaryllis flowers at a temperature between 15 and 25 degrees. Do not place the Amaryllises above a radiator, because temperatures that are too high can stop flowering. The great thing about these flowers is that they are very easy to care for. Give them a little water regularly and they will soon start to grow. In addition, it is important that they are not in a draft, as this causes the water to evaporate faster than they absorb it.
